Tuesday Magazine presents a cross-section of Harvard's intellectual life, amplifying student voices by publishing their literature, essays, ideas, and artwork. When evaluating a piece for inclusion, we consider the level of thought and quality of execution, not the topic of the piece nor the opinion of the author. All types of intellectual discourse—political, economic, social, literary, artistic—are considered for publication.
We want the magazine to be a product of our readership. Some of our content is produced by staff members, but a large portion of the magazine comes from reader submissions. Our goal is to publish material that inspires the writers and artists who read us to create works of their own—some of which, hopefully, they will print with us, starting the cycle anew. Through this process, we aim to increase both the amount and the sophistication of intellectual dialogue on campus.
Tuesday values the art of writing, and the editorial board works closely with its authors—both staff and non-staff—to revise their pieces until the prose is flawless. Art, design, and editorial boards all share a commitment to quality; we want the effort we put into producing the magazine to shine from every page. To this end we continually critique our own work, striving each issue to top the previous one. We also value creativity, and a certain amount of quirkiness; we hope the fun we have producing the magazine is also visible in the finished product.
